How do I use Streetdata SMS to send a message to a mobile?      (04 Feb 2005)

You can send SMS messages via email, via the Streetdata website, or from third-party applications compatible with the Streetdata service.

The SMS recipients can reply directly from their mobile phones.

Which mobile phones can I send a SMS to?      (22 Mar 2005)

Streetdata SMS can send messages to all digital mobile phones in Australia and to many international destinations.

How long can the SMS message be?      (01 May 2002)

The SMS message can be up to 160 characters. Transmissions that exceed this length will be silently truncated at the 160th character in the text.
Note that this limitation is not imposed by the Streetdata SMS gateway, but by the SMS standards.

Can I send one message to multiple recipients?      (02 Oct 2000)

Yes. Either by typing in multiple mobile phone email addresses in the address box of your email package, or by setting up a group in your address book, you can send messages to multiple recipients. This cuts down on administration costs as well as mobile phone charges.

Can I view the messages that I have sent?      (15 Nov 2000)

Yes, simply login via member login and select the messages option in the top menu to review your most recently sent messages.

Can I receive confirmations that my messages have been sent?      (15 Nov 2000)

Can I forward messages I receive through Streetdata SMS?      (05 Oct 2000)

You can forward SMS messages on most mobile handsets using a "forward" function and selecting the number that you wish to forward the message to.

Are messages sent through Streetdata secure?      (17 Dec 2004)

Your user, account, recipient and message details have the same level of security as sending a email or speaking on a mobile phone. Streetdata will not use any user, account, recipient or message details for advertising, soliciting, list or database sales. Please see our Privacy Statement for more information.
Streetdata will only divulge details of accounts, usage and content only if required by law.

What happens if the recipient's phone is in use, turned off or on divert?      (15 Nov 2000)

Phones that are turned off will receive SMS messages when the phone is turned on in a mobile network.
If the phone is in use, the user will be alerted and the message will be stored in the phone's memory.
Phones switched to divert will still receive SMS messages.

How do I configure a third-party application to send SMS messages via Streetdata?      (12 Feb 2001)

You can start by downloading the Streetdata Automation document from http://www.streetdata.com.au/download/Automation.pdf.
The most important thing to have in mind when configuring your application is the specific usage of certain message header fields, notably the From, To and Subject lines. Your third-party application must set all these fields properly in order for the message to be accepted by the Streetdata gateway.
