| third party e-mail to your phone |
- The third party messaging feature allows anyone to e-mail your
mobile phone using Streetdata.
- This feature can also be restricted to only enable your private
contacts to send messages to your phone.
- Opening your account to third parties will invoke a one credit
charge for every message sent to your phone by others.
Instructions
- Ask your account administrator to enable "3rd party features"
for your account
- Log into your Streetdata account and select "my settings" on
the main screen
- Ensure you have entered your GSM number in your details. Apply changes
and accept the change if you need to add your number.
- Select "3rd party access" from your user details menu.
- You have 2 choices:
1. Anyone can e-mail your mobile
- Enable 3rd party SMS access by changing this flag to Yes.
- Type in a password (don't use your login password). This password will
enable people to send messages to your mobile using Streetdata's gateway.
- Apply changes and confirm when prompted.
- You need to give this password to people so they can send messages to
your phone. Instruct people to place the password in the subject line of
their e-mail to your phone and address their e-mail to:
yourmobilenumber@streetdata.com.au
2. Only selected private contacts can e-mail your mobile
- Do NOT enable 3rd party SMS access.
- Go back to your user details and select "private contacts" from
the menu.
- Here you may add a list of people who can send e-mail to your phone via
Streetdata.
- Ensure you place a name and the correct e-mail address for your private
contacts. Apply changes when entering new information on contacts.
- To enable third party SMS for a private contact, select them from your
private contacts list.
- Change the "may SMS me back" flag to Yes and add an SMS-back
password (don't use your login password).
- You need to give this password to your contact to place it in the subject
line of their e-mail to your phone with instructions to address their e-mail
to:
yourmobilenumber@streetdata.com.au
